The TUBO source offers stable thermoelement-controlled operation at very high temperatures, or ultrahigh purity at standard temperatures due to the possible very high outgassing temperatures. In many cases where you need an e-beam evaporator today, you will be able to use a TUBO source in the future. Due to its compact size and orientation-independent operation, it can be used in practically any MBE system without the need for a special e-beam evaporator port.
