Low-Temperature AFM
The LT-AFM is based on the CreaTec LT-STM with a special tuning fork sensor for combined AFM-STM measurements. Both signals, the AFM and STM, respectively are recorded independently from each other and can be correlated to the topology.
Technical Data:
- High stability Besocke beetle type STM /AFM based on a tuning fork sensor head
- Very small drift at low temperature: <2Å/h in thermal equilibrium
- Temperature variable: 6-300K
- Optional pumping of the LHe cryostat for temperatures below 4K
- Very low helium consumption: 4 litres in 48 hours guaranteed (up to 100h achieved!)
- Optical access to the tunnelling junction
- 6 electrical contacts to the sample in the AFM
- Sample transfer at low temperatures
- Magnetic tip transfer system
- Scan range: 1µm x 1µm x 0.2µm @ 6K
- Clean ‘in situ’ dosing or evaporation
- Powerful software with spectroscopy and nanostructuring support
